Position Summary
The Produce Production Associate is responsible for preparing, cutting, and packaging fresh fruits and vegetables in a fast-paced production environment. This role requires safe knife handling, attention to quality standards, and the ability to operate packaging machinery to ensure products meet company specifications and food safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, cut, and prepare fruits and vegetables according to production standards and recipes
- Safely handle knives and cutting tools with proper technique and care
- Operate and monitor packaging machinery to pack produce efficiently and accurately
- Inspect products for quality, freshness, and consistency before packaging
- Weigh, portion, and label products as required
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Follow all company policies, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and safety procedures
- Meet daily production quotas and timelines
- Assist with loading/unloading materials and organizing inventory as needed
- Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or product inconsistencies to supervisors
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, or kitchen prep preferred
- Experience using knives or food prep tools required
- Familiarity with packaging equipment or machinery is a plus
- Ability to work in a cold or refrigerated environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to follow instructions and standardized procedures
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
- Frequent use of hands for cutting, handling, and packaging
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Work Environment
- Production facility with exposure to cold temperatures
- Use of sharp tools and machinery
- May require use of PPE (gloves, hairnets, aprons, etc.)
Compensation: $19.00 per hour
